This has been an exciting year for me. I have so much to be thankful for and I could not have accomplished anything without the support of my family and friends. 2015 is going to be amazing and I cannot wait for the blessing to unfold.
Jerome and I are ending 2014 at a medieval themed New Year’s Eve Party. I dreamed of how I wanted the dress to look and worked on it for most of the day. I am so pleased with how it turned out. Nothing is new or purchased. ..everything was “refashioned.”
The dress is my daughter’s old prom dress. I loved the dress on her so I had it dry-cleaned and covered so it was well preserved. I started cutting it into the shape I wanted. Added panels so that the dress was less fitted and flared out more. I used some of the left over fleece from my wraps and I found a “well loved” cotton peasant shirt in my closet. I cut out the rhinestone bodice and used it for my headpiece. The dress also came with a long scarf which I’m using as my veil.
I am Queen Noir
Jerome is either a Friar or Robin hood. He couldn’t decide and I didn’t want to push my luck. So he is whatever he wants to be.
He is wearing one of the first poncho’s I made. We felt like it honored the party theme. I made him a matching hat and he’s putting on his athletic tights as stockings. Ummm….he was a little salty because my outfit looked better than his. It’s all good – he thinks I look amazing and that is all that matters.
Jerome and I wish you Happy New Year! Be safe and we’ll see you in 2015.
Thanks for stopping by.
