Wow – this was my very first post. Can you believe I started in December….that’s just a couple of months ago. I swear I’ve been blogging for at least 5 years. Just kidding – I am having a blast. I’m way behind on sewing which is why I’ve been rather quiet. No worries – you’re in for some real treats and the pics will be in exotic locations to boot.
Thanks for stopping by…Gotta Go…Gotta Sew
This has been a busy week. Yesterday I visited my co-workers in the city and we had great time catching up. I spent the rest of the day at Cali Fabrics touching all the wonderful fabrics. I just finished a skirt and top that I’m wearing to a concert tomorrow night. Yep….going to see Stevie Wonder and I can’t wait. The top is Simplicity 1283 and the skirt is Vogue V8882. The top was a dream to make. I did not have to do anything except extend the length by 2 inches and it is a perfect fit. The skirt was easy as well and I added a lining to make sure I had a polished look.
I love love love the black embossed knit from Cali Fabrics that I used for the top. I intended to buy more but I had already blew my fabric budget so I hope it’s there when I return. The fabric for the skirt is an embossed taffeta. You know – the stuff you use for curtains and pillows. Well I’m sorry but when I saw the fabric I knew I wanted to use it for a skirt. The rest is herstory.
See you next time and thanks for stopping by.
