It’s About Time

I’ve been in a blogging funk.  Lot’s of sewing going on but no desire at all to get in front of the camera until today.  I guess I can blame it on seasonal depression.  I live in California but I’m in the East Bay and in my part of town it’s been  – cold – gray – foggy – raining and just overall nasty.  Today we had sunshine and a bit of a heat wave.  It was a whopping 81 degrees and I swear everyone was outside…..including me.  The plan for today was to hit the pattern sale at JoAnn’s and snap a few pics on my way out the door.

I’m wearing cute high low tunic from Simplicity it was quick and easy.  The fabric is an ITY knit from my stash.  My fabric is printed on one side so I self lined the back portion of the tunic skirt so that the wrong side of the fabric would not be visible.

I added a tan colored belt to break up the fabric pattern and the white leggings were perfect.  Although the weather was nice – it’s not hot enough for shorts yet. 🙂

See the printed side of the fabric showing at my right leg….that’s the self lining I was talking about.  I’m so glad I took the extra time to do this.  If you have fabric printed on both sides then you don’t have to worry it..but for me it was an issue.

I’m glad to be back and stay tuned for more blog posts and pictures.  Oh by the way – what do you think my new blog page?  I am over the moon excited with how it turned out and want to give a big shout out to my developer….Ryan of  Cloud Ninja Media.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

Gotta Go….Gotta Sew….

  1. Happy to see a new post from you! Love the tunic, and the decision to self-line was a good one. I also like the leggings and belt. Great pictures, and the blog design is likewise great.

    1. Thanks Donna – it’s good to know I’m not alone. I’ll be looking for your post 😜

  2. Sheeee’s Baaaaack! and looking good. Nice to hear that this pattern is quick and easy! It’s really cute and the belt and white makes it pop even more. This could be just the right project to snap me out of it. Great blog look too!

    1. Thanks Terri – I thought I was the only one that hits the wall every now and then. Give it a try can’t wait to see what you do with it.

  3. Hi Venita, nice to see your work. I love the fact you take risk in materials for certain patterns. The fact that you love to sew and share your beautiful green back drop/stairs as well as yourself to allow folks like me to be wowed, is awesome!’:-)
Fashion designers didn’t become designers without risk, keep ROCKIN my sister (DIVA) and look forward to seeing more. 🙂
