One Jumpsuit Two Looks. Two outfits for the price of one…..SCORE!!! I got the Anitra PDF pattern for free through my subscription to SewnMagazine.
I had my eye on this pattern for a while but wasn’t exactly sure that it would be flattering for my body type. I decided to just go for it and pieced the pattern together, cut out my size and watched the tutorial.
I knew from the onset that I did not want the short sleeve version as it’s pretty chilly in these parts. Well chilly for California. My heart goes out to all of you enduring the Polar Vortex. The first thing I did was go to my trusty stash and find a nice ponte knit and luckily I had it in Navy Blue. So I followed the tutorial for a bit – it’s a very straight forward pattern and lengthen the sleeves. I left the neckline as is because I like the off-the shoulder look.
I’m ready for date night! 🙂
Next I wanted to try another version as a two piece. Ever try taking everything off just to use the bathroom….brrrrrrhhhhhh. So I simply created a wearable muslin top and bottom from the same pattern. Since this was an experiment, I didn’t want to use my best fabric so went back to the stash and found a tie-dye print t-shirt knit fabric. I went to cut it out and discovered that I didn’t have enough fabric so back to the stash and I found a yard of raspberry colored fabric to finish the project.
It’s not the most beautiful thing I’ve ever made but I can tell you……it is a dream to sleep in. I mean crusty eyes and drool on the pillow kinda sleep. 🙂
