I made this in June as a lightweight summer jacket but something about it screamed fall so I’ve been held on posting this one till now. The fabric is from my stash and it’s a lovely rayon print, but the sad news is that it wouldn’t let me be great😊. It raveled to hell and back…..even the ravel goo was of no help.
Even with the walking foot attachment the fabric slipped, went to side-ways and backwards. All I wanted the dang thing to do is sew in a straight line.
Against my better judgment I followed the pattern directions and use elastic at the neck, waist and wrists. I wished I used a rib knit instead – oh well.
Sigh after the jacket was finished I couldn’t figure out how to style it. It doesn’t look quite right with jeans and a skirt really didn’t do it for me. Then there is the neck area – it looks weird on me for some reason. It’s one of those tweeners not casual enough and not dressy enough.
I decided to wear it with a DIY Maxi Dress and kept it pushing.
